Bogd Khan Mountain, located just south of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is one of the world’s oldest legally protected nature reserves, gaining protection in 1778. This culturally significant mountain, standing at an altitude of about 2,261 meters, offers lush forests, unique wildlife, and panoramic views, making it a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts.

Hiking routes vary in difficulty, with popular trails leading to Tsetsee Gun, the mountain’s highest peak. The routes are well-marked and usually take around four to six hours round-trip, though they can be challenging due to steep sections and rocky paths. Along the trails, hikers encounter beautiful birch and pine forests, as well as ancient temples like the Manzushir Monastery ruins. Wildlife sightings include ibex, roe deer, and rare bird species, providing a rich natural experience.
