Since Mongolia is known as the land of the horse, and Mongols have a reputation for being the best horsemen on Earth. Behind all this is the traditional horse culture, especially their unique skill during winter. Our main purpose is to keep this horse culture and spread it to the world through the Winter Horse Festival event.

DETAIL TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1. ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR.  
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar. Meet our guide and driver at the airport. Transfer to hotel and check in. We will have a welcome dinner at one of the most famous restaurants in Ulaanbaatar and then return to the hotel.

Overnight at hotel.


 DAY 2. ARRIVE IN CHINGGIS CITY AND PREPARE FOR THE FESTIVAL
After breakfast, drive to Giant Chinggis Khaan statue. The statues in total is 40m high and see as far sighted Chinggis Khaan holds a golden whip in his right hand on the way. Then drive to Chinggis city center of Khentii province On the way have lunch at Tsenkhermandal soum, dinner at ger camp restaurant in Batnorow soum.


DAY 3. OPENING CEREMONIES | COMPETITION | PERFORMANCE
After breakfast, For two unforgettable days, experience the Winter Horse Festival’s colorful parades and thrilling competitions. Have lunch in camp restaurant. Attend the official opening and to see Horse -Breeders Relay competition, including catching horse, taming, and training. The celebration dinner and a Nomadic family. We will see and attend a song competition “Song about Horse is who is best singing song”.  

Overnight stay in ger camp.


DAY 4. AWARDS CEREMONY AND CHINGGIS CITY
Today we will join again locals and attend the Short Horse Race and Mongolian hunter dog Taiga competition. The first three winners of horses are awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. Lunch in the camp restaurant.

Dinner at local nomadic family, to see traditional lifestyle closer. We will have an opportunity to ride horse and take unforgettable loads of pictures. And stay in the nomad family.


DAY 5. KHUDUU ARAL AND BACK TO BAGANUUR
After breakfast drive to Chinggis city. Travel along Kherlen River to AvargaToson, Khuduu Aral that is the legendary historical site of Great Chingis Khaan. Lunch at city restaurant.


DAY 6. GUN GALUUT AND ULAANBAATAR
After breakfast drive to Gun Galuut Nature Reserve to observe and watch endangered species such as wild mountain sheep -Argali, siberian white crane, white-naped crane, hooded crane, swan goose etc.

Lunch at UB city. You may choose an optional city tour where you can visit cashmere and souvenir stores.


DAY 7. DEPARTURE

About the Winter Horse Festival

Each year Horse-breeders from near and far destinations come to attend the festival with their horse, to challenge their speed, agility, and accuracy in the competitions. The Festival is organized by the local horse breeders every year. This extraordinary festival gives a great chance for travelers to see Mongolian horses and experience horse herders’ custom and culture. Many interesting activities and competitions expected at the festival including horse racing, energetic performance by local artists, traditional costumes, and professional photographers will take photos of 2000 horses and horse herders show off their skills. During the festival we can explore nomadic Mongolian’s lifestyle, culture and custom.
